High School Needs To Grow Up

So, I was watching tonight’s episode of Glee, which started out with Tina, the Asian girl, complaining about not getting a solo this year at Nationals. I’m not going to go through the whole episode and give away spoilers, but I start off on this note because it brings strong, controversial thoughts to my mind. High school kids suck. They are critical, opinionated MORONS! Keep in mind this is a generalization. I know they aren’t all like that; I do have a few friends who are still in high school. In general, however, they are hurtful with their mean words and opinions. They are selfish, out for themselves as they try to make it through that terrible time of their lives. Between homework, classwork, extra assignments, and personal lives, kids are becoming young adults. They model themselves on other peoples’ behavior, even if it’s not a positive influence, just to be able to “fit in” with other kids. They think they need to have the expensive purses, the right clothes, the perfect hair, even the certain kind of shoes! Even better is that they think they have to be total jerkwads to other people! Seriously?! You wanna be a jerk? Fine, that’s your business, but don’t go waiving your flag in everyone’s faces just to get noticed and fit in with your small group of snot-nosed twerps! And for the love of God DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DISRESPECT YOUR ELDERS! Unless you want to get your backside whipped. I swear, these kids that disrespect me sometimes… I wish they were disciplined better as children. I was always taught to respect my elders, no matter what. I don’t have to go out of my way for them, but I do respect them! No matter what! Even if I am a couple of years older than some of these kids, they treat me like crap. Respect! What about just respecting yourself! And each other! Ughhhh people need to GROW UP! Wait… no. They need to LEARN how to be DECENT people.
